 While we do think that using our index should be supportive of your mental health, we are cognisant that it may highlight some of the areas in your life where you may be struggling and would benefit from getting some help. This page outlines some of the places that offer support and these focus mainly on support available in the UK.


Mental Health Support

Samaritans - call their free helpline which available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at: 116 123

Sane - If you're experiencing a mental health problem or supporting someone else, you can call SANEline on 0300 304 7000 (4.30pm–10.30pm every day).

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) - If you identify as male, you can call the CALM helpline on 0800 58 58 58 (5pm–midnight every day) or use their webchat service.

Switchboard - If you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, you can call Switchboard on 0300 330 0630 (10am–10pm every day), email chris@switchboard.lgbt or use their webchat service. Phone operators all identify as LGBT+.

Befrienders Worldwide - If you're outside the UK, the Befrienders Worldwide website has a tool to search by country for emotional support helplines around the world.

Mind - a fantastic charity that supports those suffering with their mental health and has a huge amount of resources on their website for those looking for support.

Apps that help to reduce stress and anxiety

Headspace - they aim to outline benefits to mindfulness mediation through guided meditation, animations, articles and videos.

Calm - the number 1 app for sleep, meditation and relaxation with over 50 million downloads.

Financial wellbeing support

The Money Advice Service - an organisation who work to improve peoples financial wellbeing across the UK, to provide you with free, independent support. Try calling their helpline on 0800 138 7777, or add +44 7701 342744 to your WhatsApp and send their team a message, or try using their web chat.

Happy Money - you can request to become a member and they will help you get your finances in order. They have already helped over 100,000+ members clear over $2bn of credit card debt.
